Dottie Twigg wills her power to speak when she is spoken to, to Betty Garland. Helen Funk bestows her title of “Miss Fortress” to Esther Lechliter. Doris Householder leaves her jokes and temper to Helen Pyles. Jean Marker leaves her years of cheerleading to Eloise Shipman. Tina and Nina Kimble leave their sisterly love to Frances and Bliza- beth Anderson, ; Dalvin Wagoner leaves all his girl troubles to Glenn Long. Dorothy Rinker leaves her love for square dancing to Jeanette Kimble. Invelyn Lease wills her slenderness to Patsy Abe. Phyllis Sampson leaves her frank and truthful remarks to Norma Jean Evans. Victor Long wills his way with the teachers to George Blauch. Delores Lark leaves her daily dieting to Delores Smith. Bud Dyer wills his stubbornness to Pete Wagoner. Charlie Ornduff leaves his interest in sports to Richard Weese. Harry Lee Cumberledge hands over his car keys to Lloyd Welker. Danny Whitacre leaves all his abilities to whomever wants them. Darell Boatman wants to take everything of his own with him and part of John Dayton’s height. Irene Kimble leaves her love for basketball to Mary Ann May. Maynard Davis leaves half of his devilish ways to Franklin Den- nison. Ray Elder leaves his love for school to the whole student body—en- joy it as much as he has. Alan Whitacre wills his nick name “Dumbo” to Paul Dohrman. Carl Davis leaves his attention to the girls to Ray Pyles. Erma Welch leaves her friendly ways to Thelma Bosley. Tommy Davis leaves all his cinnamon toothpicks which he always distributes among the seniors to Jack Brinkman. Coach Simmoncelli is our adviser. We are presenting a class play, “Hands Up,” and Miss Penninah Goldsworthy, our English teacher, is directing it. Irene Kimble and Joe Ambrose were surprised the other day when they received the American Legion Medal of Merit for Citizenship. Phyllis Sampson has now joined our ranks. And now we have another broken leg! Jack Smith received it while wrestling with Donald Pownall yesterday. When we heard a scream everyone ran to see the results. There we found Jean Marker pulling Virginia Lechliter’s hair over a “puppy love” affair with Jack mith. Future Class of ’49 1945-46 Dear Diary, We are glad to be with Mrs. Olen Marks. Carl Davis joined us. We are selling cup cakes to buy some library books for the school. Doris Householder is nicknamed “Bugs.” Future Class of 49 1946-47 Dear Diary, Darell Boatman has come to us this year from Keyser High School. Charles Ornduff is also a new student from Southern High, Baltimore, Md. Both of these boys are active in sports. Mr. Thomas Small, our new Physical Education Teacher, is with us now. Jean Marker and Irene Kimble are our class cheerleaders. We decided to publish the Falashbian. Future Class of 49 1947-48 Dear Diary, We are proud to be juniors now. Our class play is “Handle With Care.”” Several of our class members had leading parts in our operetta, “Grande Ole Switzerland.” Everyone has fun making money for our Jun- ior-Senior Prom and banquet. Miss Dorothy Haines and Mr. Thomas Small are our advisers. Erma Welch has been added to our cheerleaders this year. Several of the boys and girls are on the basketball team. And oh my! Another broken bone! It is Darell Boatman this time. He was playing football. One day we found Doris Householder in the rest room sobbing, because she discovered Eldridge Leatherman was moving away. Future Class of “49 1948-49 Dear Diary, Twenty-six enrolled in our final year, but Jimmy Livengood ceased his struggle. Victor Long is our president; Helen Funk, vice-president; Dorothy Rinker, secretary; Dottie Twigg, treasurer; and Irene Kimble, reporter. Miss Helen Pownall is our Home Room Teacher. We are pre- senting “Neath a Dixie Moon” and several of our group are taking part in the operetta. Helen Funk is manager and scorekeeper; Victor Long, timekeeper; and Tommy Davis, manager for the basketball teams. And now, Dear Diary, as we close the pages of our final entry of our high School career, we wish that all those coming on might experience our Joys and successes and have as much fun as we have had in our struggle for education.
