JUNIOR CLASS At the beginning of the school term, forty Juniors enrolled in Fort Ashby High School. The following of- ficers were elected: President--Betty Jo Barnes, Sec- retary--Alma Adams, Treasurer--Melvin Woolford, Report- er--Pavline Smith. Several boys from the Junior class took an active part in football. The boys include: Wendell Bohrer, Melvin Woolford, Donald Linn, Exrl Boore, Paul Davis, Earold Umstot, David Malone, Ndward Davis, and manager Dick Deremer. Both boys and girls from the Junior class made up a large nart of the Basketball teams. The girls who played were: Thelma Wagoner, Pavline Smith, Maxine Kimble, Kathleen Anderson, Helen Senn, June Senn, Patsy Starliper, Imogene Coy, and Betty Jo Barnes as manager. The boys who were members of the squad were: Wendell Bohrer, Melvin Woolford, Bob Wetzel, Paul Shafer, and Donald Linn. On March 14, The Jinior class sponsored a St. Pat- rick's dance to earn money for the class fund. March 18, Days 0' Kerry Dancing was presented by the Fort Ashby High School Chorus. Alma Adams and Wen- dell in the leading roles, sunported by the following: Helen Abe, Isabelle Anderson, Imogene Cox, Betty Davis, Ruth Funk, Maxine Kimble, Miriam Livengood, Betty Long, Helen Senn, June Senn, Pauline Smith, Jean Borror, Patsy Starliper, Thelma Wagoner, and Kathleen Anderson. Farl Boore, Paul Shafer, Richard Deremer, Paul Davis, Bernard Douthitt, Donald Brooke, Edward Davis, Donald Linn, Edgell Long, David Malone, Paul Twigg, Bobby Wetzel and Melvin Woolford. Betty Jo Barnes accompanied the group . On April 18, The Thread of Destiny was presented by the Junior class. The Thread of Destiny is a drama in three acts, by Lindsey Barbee. The scene was Virginia during the Civil War period. Alma Adams and Paul Shafer played the leads. The supporting cast weres Kathleen Anderson, Dick Deremer, Pauline Smith, Thelma Wagoner, Betty Long, Melvin Woolford, Edgell Long, Isabelle Ander- son, Maxine Kimble, David Malone, June Senn, Betty Davis, Jean Borror, Wendell Bohrer, Paul Davis, Patsy Starliper, Bob Wetzel, Imagkn@eGoxpeBetty Jo BarnesĀ» ne Helen Ave. Tuesday, April 9, the cast went to Ridgeley and had their pictures taken for the Cumberland papers. The chief aim of the Juniors this year has been to raise money for the Junior and Senior prom which will be Friday, May 17. Pauline Smith
