Executive Qfficer Captain obert 'D Tarlet Captain Robert D. Partlet was born in Winner, South Dakota. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineer- ing from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Master of Science Degree in Sys- tems Management from the Univeristy of Southern Calyornia. He entered flight training in Au- gust 1971 in Pensacola, Florida, was commissioned as Ensign in December 1971 and received his wings in February 1973. Captain Parlet's first assign- ment was with Air Anti- Submarine Squadron Thirty IVS- 30j at NAS Quonset Point, Rhode Island, and NAS Cecil Field, Florida, flying the S-2EfG air- craft. His next tour of duty was with Air Anti-Submarine Squad- ron Thirty-One IVS-311 where he transitioned to the S-3A and made the squadron's first Viking de- F light Training Officer and then as the Head of Pilot Curriculm. During this time, he concurrently obtained his master's degree. In August 1981, Captain Parlet transferred to Commander Air Wing Three ICVW-31 as the ASW Operations Officer. After workups on board USS john F. Kennedy ICV-671, he completed a Mediter- ranean Sea flndian Ocean deploy- ment. Additional at-sea periods include a North Atlantic deploy- ment and ORE. Reporting to Air Anti- Submarine Squadron Twenty- Four IVS-241 in October 1983, he served as the Administrative and Maintenance Officer. Embarked on USS Nimitz ICVN-681, Captain Parlet participated in a Central American fMediterranean deploy- ment. In july 1985, he reported to Naval Military Personnel Com- assumed command on july 2, 1988. After a Mediterranean de- ployment, his squadron transi- tioned to the S-3B. In April 1990, Captain Parlet reported to the USS Theodore Roosevelt ICVN-711 as Combat Di- rection Officer and then as Op- erations Ojficer. During his tour, he participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the Persian Guy and Operation Provide Comfort in the Mediter- ranean. In january 1992, Captain Part- let reported to the USS Forrestal IAVT-591 and assumed the duties as Executive Officer. He departed in june 1993 for a new duty sta- tion in Washington, D.C. Captain Partlet has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal ftwo awardsj and the Navy Commendation Medal Itwo awardsj as well as various other

Executive Qfficer Captain Dean cn. 'Fournier Captain Dean N. Fournier was born on December 30, 1949 in Holyoke, Mass. He graduated from Westfield State College with a Bachelor of Science in Educa- tion in 1971. In May 1972, he attended Aviation Officer Candi- date School at NAS Pensacola, Fla., and was commissioned in September 1972. He received his Wings of Goldv in December 1973 at NAS Meridian, Miss., and reported to NAF Sigonella, Sicily, as station pilot and Assis- tant Security Ojficer. In February 1976, Captain Fournier reported to the Armed Forces Air Intelligence Training Center, Lowry AFB, Colo. Upon completion of training in Septem- ber 1976, he was assigned to VS- 35 as Air Intelligence Office. He then joined VS-29 at NAS North Island and deployed to the West- ern Pacmc aboard USS Ranger Fighting Frogs as Aircraft Di- vision Ojficer and Student Con- trol Ojjicer, and was selected as Instructor of the Year. He report- ed to Fleet Replacement Squad- ron Forty-One IVS-411 in january 1980 for S-3A training. Captain Fournier then joined VS-37 for two WESTPAClIO cruise aboard USS Enterprise ICVN-651 and USS Constellation ICV-641. He served as Sawbuck', Assistant Operations Officer, QA Omcer and Training Department Head, and also earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from National Univeristy, San Diego, Calf From November 1985 to Novem- ber 1988, Captain Fournier was assigned to Chief of Naval Air Training, Corpus Christi Indoc- trintation Team IT45TSj as Cur- riculm Development Officer and Ground Training System Officer. tation and Test and Evaluation of the T45TS Ground Training Sys- tem. Captain Fournier joined USS Forrestal IAVT-591 as Operations Ojjicer in early September 1992 and assumed duties as Executive Ojjicer in june 1993. Captain Fournier's awards in- clude the Meritorious Service Medal fthree awardsj, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service De- ployment Ribbon, and the Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Ser- vice Ribbon.
