Rota, Spain The Rota. of August, l98O seemed somehow different from the Rota of March, I98O. Maybe it was because there weren't nearly as many ships in port this time, resulting in far more of the crew being allowed to go ashore. Or maybe it was because FORREST SHERMAN was only in port for two days this time, leaving on the evening of the second day. Or maybe it was because the climate in Spain in August is different from the climate in March. v Or could it possibly have been that this time, instead of having the whole deployment to look forward to, we were GOING HOME?
