The winter sun provided little warmth to those of us manning the rail to enter port, 'twith pea coats buttoned, collars down. Marseilles is France's largest seaport and has a long history. To the Romans, it was the seaport of Massillia, but extensive destruction during World War II has left little of ancient value, and conversely rebuilding has made the city clean and and prosperous. Le Twist Christine When you hear of France you think of French women, and Marseilles was no ex- ception. Many of the clubs had their own version of the follies to wow the bachelors aboard. Highlight of our stay was a fashion show on the mess decks, complete with a display of Gallic pulchritude in bikinis.The models, Mireille and Christine, gave us a demonstration of the twist, assisted by Outen, SMSN and Brindle, SN. A surprise ap- pearance of Miss ASROC in a very brief bikini capped the day. Miss ASRUC. l --'-'i '
