FORK UNION MILITARY ACADEMY q ADVANTAGES Give Your Boy What He Cannot Lose-An Education i 1. TYPE OF ScHooL HE SPIRIT of noble self-sacrifice of the founders of yesterday has made Ijossible the Fork Union Military Academy of today, and has begotten that indefinable something, a spiritual atmosphere that enlivens, ennobles, and uplifts all who come under its influence. The Academy, While under control of Virginia Baptists, is in no way sectarian in its teaching and carries on its roll representatives of all the leading religious denominations. It is a Christian school and instils into its students principles of honor, integrity and right living fitting them for high, i telligent citizenship. Above all, it endeavors to in- culcate the prinpiples that lay the foundation of strong Christian manhood. l While it is absolutely essential that a boy be successful in his academic Work, alschool to accomplish the best must give to a boy that which he cannot find in books. The man must be made as well as the mind trained. Both of these are essential to the highest success in life. i 2. TRAINED TEACHERS ORK UNION MILITARY ACADEMY offers a thorough college preparatory course and also an excellent commercial course. To do first class Work the faculty must be ample and properly equipped. Every instructor in Fork Union Military Academy is a Christian gentle- man, an experienced teacher, and is following teaching as a life profession. We do not employ anyone on our faculty who is using the position as a stepping stone tp some other profession. We are pleased to announce that our faculty cheerfully gives much overtime to cadets needing special assistance, and noieffort is neglected to secure the best endeavor on the part of every student. We believe that teaching is a high calling and making men one of the most exalted privileges in which any man can engage. l Careful physical training, and military discipline are given, thereby equipping our cadets with healthy bodies and Well-disciplined minds. The school plant must meet the needs of our cadets, but fine build- ings and good equipment alone do not make the best school nor should they be a school's best possessions. The personalities a boy meets in the classroom should be the largest asset in eveny educational institution. l19l
