Dedication
We cannot express our deep appreciation in a few words for
your untiring and self sacrificing efforts in your two years here
As counselors you are admired as teachers you are loved and
with your ever cheering personality you are envied
lt is hard to tell you of the gratitude that is in our hearts but
through you, we have gained a clearer vision of the path ahead,
which leads to eternal life.
Now that you are leaving, we regret the parting, but reioice
in your new position of serving God in a new field.
With the most sincere respect and honor, we lovingly dedicate
this MIRROR to . . .

The Academy Board believes in Christian education for the youth of our
Conference. We are proud of our school, Forest Lake Academy, and for what it is
doing for those who attend. This year we are graduating 60 who are finding
their way in life and will continue their education for the Lord's work. It is
our task as an organization to train our youth of the church for the finishing
of the work of God on this earth.
We are proud of our faculty who are especially trained to guide our students
that they may gain "favor with God and man." Our sincere appreciation
is expressed to those teachers who have dedicated their lives to this work.
The board and constituency is mindful of the needs at the school to further
improve the facilities both in the physical plant and industrial expansion.
We are praying for His continued blessings on Forest Lake Academy, where the
mind and hand is trained for the service of God.
Don R. Rees
llli l3lllNEllllll SPLllllS
"The measure of a man's real character is what he would do if he knew
he would never be found out," said Thomas B. Macaulay. Yes, character
is what you are. Personality is what other people see or think you are. Above
all, l would wish for the graduates and the other students who have been at
Forest Lake Academy this school year that you form the type of character
that would have the approbation of Heaven.
"God requires perfection of His children." Christ's Object Lessons, P. 3l5.
The enemy of the best, is not the worst, but the "good enough". Don't be
satisfied with the "good enough."
Since God did not make two fingerprints alike it is obvious that He never
intended any two persons to be just alike. You are different. You are not
Eike anyone else. So wake up! Make the most of each exciting opportunity that
presents itself to you. You are important. You can increase the total good
in the world simply by being the proper type of person yourself.
A single drop of vivid dye plunged into a pitcher of pure water will appear
to have little affect, but if many drops are put in a pitcher, the color of
the whole liquid is changed, yet no one drop contributed to the change more than
any other. You must be your bit. God expects it of you, and I know that
you will match up to this challenge, and that there will be among the students
whose pictures appear on the succeeding pages of this annual, stalwart men
and women who will be leaders for their God and their country.

to a "T." He has been with us only one
year, but we respect his ideals.
He has a very interesting hobby of
collecting indian arrowheads.
The determined way he does things will
mean so much in his future.
May God pour out His richest blessings
on you, Melvin!
MELBA ALENE PITTS
HOMETOWN: Panama City, Florida
AMBITION: Secretary
Some people can be so musical! Especially
is this true of Alene. She has been willing
to play whenever needed. She has also
worked as an accompanist for two
years that she has been here.
She comes to us from the northern part of
the state and is proud of her hometown.
Her friendliness will long be remembered.
and she is sure to be missed on the
campus.
SHIRLEY ANN PUCKETT
HOMETOWN: Tampa, Florida
AMBITION: Secretary
This girl is certainly a live-wire, for she
is here one minute and gone the next. She
puts her whole self into something when
she does it, and especially when she
sings with her lovely voice. She is
always willing to help out where she is
needed.
We wish you the best of everything,
Shirley.

DENISE ROBERT
HOMETOWN: Tampa, Florida
AMBITION: Stenographer
Denise is one of those people who takes
life as it comes. She meets the problems
with the determination to conquer them
and the lighter side of her life with
more gaiety. "People who gripe" is her
pet peeve, and that is something that
you will never hear Denise doing.
Her faculty for wit will cheer others
along the way.
ELEANOR JEAN ROBISON
HOMETOWN: Apopka, Florida
AMBITION: Nurse
Full of iollity, laughter and merriment is
Eleanor. She likes to have fun, but she is
studious, too. Her grades are all tops,
and most of the time she was on the
honor roll. With her personality, she is a
very amiable person.
Her red hair and sunny smile will be
missed next year.
Best wishes, Eleanor!
PATRICIA ANN RUSSELL
HOMETOWN: Jacksonville, Florida
AMBITION: Social Worker
Jolly and gay-this must be Pat! She is
someone you lust can't help but like. I'
there is anything that you want or need
help on, call Pat, and she is right there
at your service.
With her voice, singing in the Girls'
Trio, she cheered th: hearts of many.
May your future be bright, Pat.

EUZABETH ANN SELLERS
HOMETOWN: Maitland, Florida
AMBITION1 Music Teacher
"There's never a dull moment around
her." Betty Ann is one of those girls
who can do almost anything at any time.
Her music has certainly been enioyed
by all and all of us have envied her
skill at the piano,
A bright spot glows in our minds when
we think of Betty Ann, and we'll always
remember her and her quick wit,
RUTH ANN SHROYER
HOMETOWN: Maitland, Florida
AMBHIONZ Nurse
A bundle of courtesy, friendliness and all
that's nice is Ann. No other girl has
dimples quite so pretty as Ann's. She
had determination enough to do four
school years' work in three. Ann lived in
the dormitory one year and she lived
in the village one year.
lf you ever feel down in the dumps,
remember Ann and her wonderful
personality.
JAMES LARIMER SMITH
HOMETOWN: Orlando, Florida
AMBITION: D'y Cleaner
Instead of being dignified, as seniors are
usually noted for being, Jimmy is full
of mischievous pranks! He can be seri:-us
at times, though.
When Jimmy has any spare time, he
likes to work with radios and the like.
Someday, you will be able to find a
nice, modern dry-cleaner establishment
with Jimmy as owner and manager.
Good luck in your chosen field!

Most Gracious Heavenly Father, from whom cometh every good and
perfect gift, make us worthy of the rich heritage that is ours. Strengthen
us in body and in spirit as we go forth from this school into the world
of today. May we be fitted for our calling in the service ot our country
