This park is tamed for its sweet peas, the pride of the city. They grow to a height of seven and eight feet, and bloom during February and March. This is undoubtedly the favorite lake of Orlando. The luxuriant shrubbery, trees, and flowers: the black swan, the ducks, and the hundreds of friendly qulls invite the passer-by to pause for a few moments of relaxation. Those of our students and faculty who are in need of medical attention are tetlcen to this institution where they are cared for hy friendly doctors and nurses. Dean Downing has attempted to provide an atmos- phere ot retinement and Christian culture tor these boys, some ot whom have lett their homes tor the tirst time. The dormitory has received a new coat ot asbestos shingles which has greatly improved its appearance. How otten have we appreciated this section of our grounds! Vlfe have had "Flag Day" exercises on this appropriate spot. Our Medical Cadet group has many times marched back and forth between the trees with the tlag Waving above them. lncidentally it is a favorite spot tor students to pose tor "snaps", and the setting is ideal tor a class in literature to break the monotony ot the regular class- room recitation. Usually frequent visits with the dean help the student in this adjustment. ln so tar as is possible in an institution, a homelike atmos- phere prevails. Plans must be formulated which will contribute toward the spiritual, mental, and physical well being of each girl. Sl0,000 in improvements have been added in the past tour years, and the new administration building, which will cost approximately 340,000 is under construction.
