Arthur pearlmuttervs study ol meteors earned him third place in the National Vvestinghouse Science Competition. Janet Chace and .ludy Levine were accepted as representatives lrom F.H.H.S. to the All-City Chorus, while Judy Krumhein made the All-City 0rc'hestra. During the haslcethall season. the unpredictahle FH. Rangers. under the ahle management ol Diclc lxlead, ran rampant, hringing the North Shore Championship to Forest Hills. On this sparlcling team were seniors Carl Hochman, John Breeslcin. Al Nlohr, Lennie Ginsberg, .lerry Portnoy, lwlorty Beer, Diclc Vvachtell, Roclty Basile, and Elliot Reinhardt. Xvhile our hoys were challcing up victories, the Leaders' Club held its semi-annual elections, with Nancy Shaffer gaining the presidency. lxlarsha Tendler, Greta Savitt. and hilary Nelson were elected memlmers ol' the governing laody. On the memorahle day ol Fehruary I, l05'5. we. the memhers oi the graduating class, inherited lrom our nohle predecessors, the alienahle rights ol heing called Seniors The most prominent oi our reserved honors was the exclusive Ui right ol wallcing on the Senior Staircase. At the heginning ol' the term. the 777 new seniors liled into the auditorium to hold their lirst meeting and to meet their newly-elected ollicers: Erv Philipps. presi- dent. and Grace Erher, Anita Glass. Dave Kissinger, Cieorge porges, Nina Schicli. and Eddie Stern. ollicers. Wir. Bartlett caused excitement to run high as he rushed to complete tht- Senior ratings. Standing lirst in the class, Pierre Sprey was chosen to he valedictorian. Sonja Frenlcel and Herh Strauss were second and third, respectively. The Prom Committee had its liirst eventlul meeting in ixlarch ol 'Ti The Terrace Room ol the Plaza, just oil Central park. was suggested as an ideal spot.
