ENGLISH From their vast storehouses of literary knowledge, Mrs. Reid, Mrs. Nichols, Mrs. Hardy, and Miss Thrailkill enrich their students as they give them a firm foundation for higher English. ENGLISH Mrs. Martha Odom, Miss Mary Sharp Lick fold, Mrs. Laverne Deevers, and Mrs. Henrietta Gibbes prepare their students for high school English by putting much stress on literature, composition, and grammar. BUSINESS EDUCA TION AND LIBRARY Preparing students for tomorrow's business world, Mrs. Reid, Mrs. King, and Mrs. Holmes teach classes in shorthand, typing, bookkeeping, and secretarial training. Aptly managing the library, Mrs. Ramsey offers unlimited horizons to Forest Hill students through a world of books and magazines. DRIVER EDUCATION AND LANGUAGES With a sense of humor ( and an extra set of brakes ) as their only protection, Mr. Sahler and Mr. Gainey attempt to teach safety on the road to eager pupils, Explaining the complexities of Spanish and Latin occupy the time of Mrs. Sipes and Mr. Simmons.

 HISTORY With humor and understanding Mr. Moore and Mrs. Ward prepare their students for the future by learning from the past. Mr. Walsh supplements textbook material by relating highlights of a military career. HISTORY Mr. Tom Cheney, our head coach, teaches American History to eager juniors. Coach Thompson and Coach Purvis spend their classroom hours teaching the past to history-minded pupils. MA THEM A TICS Straight-from-the-shoulder teaching of mathematics suited to a satellite age keeps the teachers in mathematics busier than usual. Giving students a sound foundation in geometry, algebra, and trigonometry arc Mr. Ruthland and Mrs. Ferguson, who is also the high school principal. MA THEM A TICS Preparing junior high students for a more advanced mathematics are Mrs. Thomas, Miss Jones, Mr. Simmons, Mrs. Branscome, and Mrs. Killion. 9

SCIENCE Aware of the increasing need of scientific knowledge in a space age, the five teachers in our science department challenge thier students to step up the tempo of their learning. Opening up new fields of interest to the junior high students arc Coach Brock, Mrs. Durr, and Coach Chandler. SCIENCE Teaching with genial humor and skill, Coach Thomas and Coach Durr are continually alert to new developments in biology, chemistry, and physics. ELECTIVES In preparation for future occupations students learn how to cook, sew, speak, correctly, handle various machines, ami keep physically fit under the guidance of Mr. Scott, Miss Jones, Mrs. Gibbes. Mrs. Webb, Mr. Splain, Mrs. Allcgrezza, and Miss Lick fold. MUSIC Music hath charms to soothe the troubled breast. Creating an appreciation for music and developing native abilities are the aims of Mrs. Mildred Brock, Mrs. Dot Touchstone, Mr. B. B. Brokaw, and Mrs. Margaret Sullivan. II
