OUR SPORTS CELEBRITIES. . .1965 Participating in the Second National Junior Champ Track and Field Championship Meet in Minnesota were: Roy Moore, Travis Eldridge, Jimmy Stewart, and Ernie Thomas. Achieving first-team positions on the North Little Dixie team were: (bottom left) John Chastain, Tom Phillips, Chip Davis, (top left) Harry Searcy, Travis Eldridge. All six starters made the Hinds County Tournament team. Connie Rushing, Barbara Farris, Frankie Walsh, and Carol Sudduth made the tournament team of every tournament in which they played. J. P. Shelton and James Lyles have 3lso made the tournament team of every tournament in which they played. Among these were All Little Dixie and District Six. 118

As the middle man between the student body and the administration, the Forest Hill Student Council strives to promote courtesy, honesty, and school spirit. In its effort to better Forest Hill, the Student Council sponsors pep buses to away games, a courtesy week, Career Day, regular assemblies, the awarding of scholastic letters, and the publication of the school handbook. However, the work of the council goes deeper than just its projects. What about the broken pencil sharpeners or the bell that doesn't ring? Tlirough an active participation in student council associations and the adherence to rules of parliamentary procedure, the Forest Hill Student Council improves itself and provides leaders for Forest Hill.
