FOREST HILL 25 PEARL 19 Forest Hill's Rebels staged a brilliant comeback after trailing by 19-6 at half-time to register a stirring 25-19 victory over the Pearl Pirates for their fourth win of the season. After having trouble getting a movement on the ground, the Rebels decided to go to the air as Tidmore moved the Rebs down field in scoring position. With 20 seconds left on the clock, Tidmore went across from the nine to send the score to 19-6 at the half-time. The Rebels were a different team after halftime as they scored three times on passes to Jimmy Carter and George Weeks and a run by Tidmore. The nature of the game was the dominance of Pearl in the first half and the Rebels' terrific second half comeback. Coach David Lingle is shown giving instructions to his star lineman Jim Ray during one of the Rebel's exciting games. Whoa boy! FOREST HILL 13 FOREST 39 The Forest Bearcats again turned the tide on the Forest Hill Rebels as they routed the Rebs by a score of 39-13. After leading by a score of 26-6 at the half-time, the Bearcats continued to take advantage of the Rebels' miscues as they ran for two more touchdowns and limited the Rebs to one. Tidmore ran his season scoring total to 71 points as he again accounted for all the Rebels’ points. The Bearcats were led by standouts, Stanley Douglass and James Harvey.

Let go! A bit of the rugged line play of the Florence game is shown here as an Eagle defender stops George Weeks, Forest Hill halfback, for a little gain. Jimmy Carter, number 5, lends his assistance to little avail. FOREST HILL 20 FLORENCE 8 Rebel manager Harris Chandler displays some of the duties of an efficient manager as he is seen doctoring Rebel end John Beasley. Forest Hill's fast improving Rebs found themselves right in the middle of the North Little Dixie championship race when they ran to a 20-8 victory over the previously unbeaten Florence Eagles. With quarterback, Jerry Tidmore leading the way, the Rebs ripped holes in the Eagle line to register their third victory of the year. Near the opening of the contest, the Rebels first scored with Tidmore doing the honors. The Rebs then took an early 7-0 lead. After a Rebel punt, the Eagles then marched again downfield to Rebel territory, this time to score. With Robert Kuhn taking it over from the four yard line, the Eagles then trailed by only 7-6. The attempted P.A.T. was blocked and the Rebs kept the lead. In the second half the Rebs scored two more times, with Tidmore gathering his second and third touchdowns of the night to set the stage for the win. The lone Eagle score of the last half was a safety executed by an Eagle lineman, who caught Weeks in the endzone for the final score.

Get that ball! Mass confusion is displayed in this Forest Hill encounter FOREST HILL 6 BRANDON 7 The Brandon Bulldogs pulled the biggest upset of the year when they edged out a narrow 7-6 victory over Forest Hill's Rebels to knock the Rebs from championship contention in the North Little Dixie. Jarring Joe Patterson scored the Rebels lone touchdown in the last period as the Rebs tried desperately to pull another victory out of the bag. Brandon's determined Bulldogs managed to keep possession of the ball and insure their upset win. Leonard Rickman, Mike Phillips and John Beasley led the Rebels, who were playing without star quarterback, Jerry Tidmore. as each team scrambles for the ball. FOREST HILL 0 CLINTON 26 Clinton's North Little Dixie Champions, led by hard charging fullback, Jimmy Dukes, ran to a hard fought victory over the Forest Hill Rebels to the tune of 26-0. With the Rebs not able to churn a touchdown movement, the Arrows then moved to their first score as Dukes scored on an end sweep to send the score to 7-0. Two and one half minutes later, the Arrows were in scoring position after intercepting a Rebel aerial. But the Arrows did not stop there as they moved to a 19-0 half time lead on the strength of a pass to end Johnny Stanley. With linemen Rodney Brechenridge, Jimmy Ray, and Mike Phillips leading a strong Rebel effort, the Rebs held the Arrows to only a lone second half score as Dukes ran for his third score of the night. The Rebel offense was led by hussl-ing Bill Hobson and charging Joe Patterson. Quarterback Jerry Tidmore is shown being hit for a loss after having to pounce on a loose ball.
