Then lightning struck as the Rebs traveled to Mendennall to tangle with the mighty Tigers. A late 26 point spurge with Huffman. Tramel, and Peterson leading trie way was not enough. Mendenhall 46. The Hazlehurst- Morton games The Forest Hill Rebels opened the 1959-GO football campaign with a sound 32-0 thumping over the Hazlehurst Indians. Quarterback Dennis Huffman paced the Rebels by scoring one touchdown himself and passing for three others. The victory string was short-lived, however, as the Rebels dropped a close 28 to 25 battle with the highly touted Morton Panthers. A two touchdown spurge by fullback Bill Gore before some 4000 screaming fans wasn't enough to provide the winning margins for the Rebs. Doug Tramel LH Mike Duddleston
