With the passing of time, the echoes of our school life grow
fainter and fainter, and then die away. Gone forever will be the
routine of school life, the fun we had, and the friends we made.
It is the hope of the 1955 Rambler Staff that, as you glance through Q
this book in the years to come, you will recapture those moments
in mind and heart. . . . . . and the echoes will begin again.
DEIIIIJATIO
isis
Because of her contagious friendliness to-
ward each of us, because of her cheerful wil-
lingness to lend her skill to those possessed
with great problems, and because of the ef-
ficiency with which she handles the job that
is hers, we dedicate the 1955 Rambler to Mrs
Suedie T. Allen, whom we love and admire.
SUPERINTENIIENT'
MESSAGE
TO THE CLASS OF 1955:
The experience of our assoc-
iation has fortified my faith in the
youth of today. This faith has been
the principal source of inspiration
for your teachers as we have en-
deavored to guide you in your worthy
interests and undertakings. Ours has
been a happy and satisfying relation
in direct proportion with the pro-
gress you have made.
Youth is the hope of the world--
our expectancy for tomorrow. There
is no cause to fear the future so long
as the schools of America graduate
young men and women of your abili-
ties and moral fiber. The beginning
you have made in this institution
will serve as a basis for your fut-
ure growth toward well rounded
citizens of our American democracy.
To the degree you have done your
appointed task faithfully and well,
have lived day by day the high prin-
ciple of Christian character, to that
degree have you approached the i-
deals of worthy citizenship.
Your contributions to your school
have been great. For the honors and
glory you have brought For-est High,
this community will be eternally
grateful. Your role in bringing our
program to a standard justifying our
admission into the Southern Assoc-
iation of Secondary Schools and Col-
leges was no little part, for which
you should rightfully be proud.
Let no temptation or influence
hinder you as you continue to work
toward the attainment of the goal you
have set for your life. All of your
teachers join me in wishing for each
of you ultimate and complete suc-
cess.

The United Nations has its Assembly, the Presi-
dent has his Cabinet, and Forest High School has its
Student Council. Composed of two representatives
from each class in Junior and Senior High School and
two members at large, the Council, under Sylvia
Howell's guiding gavel, supervised Homecoming and
Career Day with wonderful precision. The Council
points its efforts toward the promotion of a strong
student government and the creation of an atmosphere
of progress and hospitality.

All things considered,
it was a good year. True,
we pounded a hot typewriter,
drank much coffee, lost
friends and sleep, but it
was fun. If many years
from now, this book re-
minds you of people you
knew and things you did
way back in 1955, then we
will consider our job well
done.
