Forest City drew first blood and Clear Lake was quick to retaliate. The score
was tied at 6-6 until the last twenty seconds of the game. The Lions drew a first down
on the Forest City two-yard line via the penalty route. The Lions scored to win the game.
FOREST CITY 19 ST. EDMONIB 12
The score was tied O-O at the half. St. Edmonds scored on the first play of the
second half. Forest City's offense caught fire and scored three touchdowns in seven
minutes. St. Edmonds scored again in the last two seconds of play.
FOREST CITY 13 BRITT 7
Forest City struck swiftly with a seventy yard pass play Nilssen to Lanstad, but the play was called
back The half ended 0 0. In the second half the Eagles scored first on a fake kick Levad scored in a
return touchdown. Tom Oswald scored again to put the Indians in the lead.
FOREST CITY 32 GARNER 7
Forest City had no problem in defeating Garner Touchdowns were made by Tom Oswald Dave Hill
Paul Oswald and Ted Nilssen
FOREST CITY 19 BUFFALO CENTER 12
Forest City reached its peak as it dominated a tough Bison eleven to wreck the Bison S Home
coming and title hopes The Indians completely controlled the Bison and led the half 13 6 In the second
half Nilssen intercepted a pass and ran thirty three yards to score. Buffalo Center scored on the first
play of the fourth quarter A terrific goal line stand on the one foot line by the Indians held the Bison
for four downs and sacked up the game for the Indians It was the best game of the year for the Indians
FOREST CITY 19 BELMOND 12
Forest City s flu riddled team was pretty evenly matched at Belmond s invasion of the Indian s
Homecoming. Belmond scored first but the Indians rose to the occasion and placed themselves in con
trol of the conference by returning the football to the opponent s goal often enough to win the game
FOREST CITY 27 NORTHWOOD 20
The first string of the Indians completely dominated the Viking eleven. The Northwood touchdowns
were scored against the second string Indians Ted Nilssen scored four touchdowns with the co opera
tion of his warrior party and pulled the crowd from its bleachers with a spectacular eighty one yard
run.
FOREST CITY 20 LAKE MILLS 13
Forest City Jumped to a 20 0 lead with Hill striking paydirt on a forty three yard reverse Tom
Oswald scored on a twenty three yard pass from Nxlssen. Nilssen scored the third touchdown. The season
was over for the Indians in the fourth quarter as they very graciously contributed to final scoring by the
Bulldogs IT WAS A VERY FINE SEASON FOR A VERY FINE TEAM!!

Forest C1ty Leland Commumty School d1str1ct voters turned out U1 record numbers durmg the
month of November to approve a S605 OOO bond 1ssue by more than two to one In sprte of ra1n 2 005
voters came out to vote and a vote of 1 323 to 660 approved the bond lssue for construct1on of a new hrgh
school blllldlflg. Twenty two ballots were sporled.
Four propertles were later voted on to determme the s1te for the new project as one that would be
favorable to the majorrty of people The s1te elected was the Hanson Buckley Erdahl property Poll Judges
for the s1te vote were Mrs Oral Kmgland Mrs Jlm Hayes Mrs Roy Ons Mrs Frank Kamlsh Mrs
John Schaeffer Arlo Johnson and Selmer Carlson.
The bond xssue passed on the thlrd attempt was brought to a vote through the efforts of the Forest
C1ty Leland PTA Forest C1ty Leland health councxl and the Forest C1ty Development. In response to
pet1t1ons c1rculated, more than 500 persons slgned petltlons requestmg the vote
