IIEIMTE The Ford High School Debate Squad successfully concluded the season by win ning second place in the State Debate Tournament at Hutchinson, Prior to this time the debaters had attended a clinic at Hays, and tournaments at Great Bend, Dodge City, Hutchinson, Garden City, Haven, and the district tournament at Dodge City, Lena and Deanna won third place at the Dodge City tournament with six wins and no losses, They lost to Haven in the semi-finals. The Ford High School Bulldogs had a very successful season with ZZ wins and 5 losses, We won second in League play, as well as second in the Iroquois League Tournament. We entered the District Tournament at Spearville with a 14-4 record, and after drawing a bye the first night, we defeated Friends of Haviland 74 to 64, The second night we defeated Jetmore 61 to 47 in the finals. The following week we entered the Regional Tournament at Fowler, The first night we played Plains and won in a close game 47 to 46, The following night we played Sublette and won 73 to 54, In the finals we played Satanta and won 73 to 67 which sent Ford to the State Tournament at Emporia for the first time in the school's history, In the State Tournament, Wathena was 'our first victim and we edged them 57 to 55.
