At least you weren't diagramming com- No one ever said it would be a bed of roses. But then again, you may have defied them all, by actual- ly enjoying the academic life. At first, it may have seemed like a four year sentence for crimes un- known. Soon enough, you realized it wasn't that bad and that you were actually learning something. You found out that not all your teachers took a course in Perpetual Homework and Student Suffering. your teachers' bad jokes. Controversial subjects, such as AIDS, abortion, and nuclear war were dis- cussed, while viewpoints were exchanged. Students were learning not only the Pythagorean Theorem and the conjugation of Spanish verbs, but about the world outside of Foothill. You say academics and some people may shud- der. In all actuality, academics wasn't just hours of homework, term papers, and tests. Academics was learning, experiencing, questioning, and appreciat- ing all the world had to offer.
