Alive and u 6, ,f 1 Y Kicking For the varsity soccer team, the 1986 season looked almost promis- ing. During pre-season, the team traveled to Eureka in September to compete in a tournament. The Mighty Mustangs defeated three oth- er high schools to advance to the championship game against Eureka in which they were defeated. The Mustangs carried into their season an air of confidence - maybe too much confidence. During midseason, the team then traveled to Dixon to par- ticipate in another tournament, and were defeated after their third game. The remainder of the season went reasonably well for the Mustangs. The team wrapped things up by tying their last two games, setting them in third place for the second year in a row, just missing out on the Tourna- ment of Champions.
