restate an old slogan Better Schools Make Better
Commumhes
At trmes the student, and we all are students
at one tmme or another, may feel he 1s treated
unjustly but I flrmly belleve that each teacher s
uppermost thought IS How can I be of help to the

Never before 1n the h1story of manlund has the
lnterest 1n pubhc school educatron been so profound
Even those people who have no chxldren m school are
concerned wlth the poss1b111ty that thetr taxes may
be 1ncreased to enable a new school dlstnct to be
formed, or new constructlon to be undertaken
It IS not for us to condemn the se advances 1n the
opportumtles for our chlldren and our ne1ghbors'
chmldren, but rather to be cogmzant of what has been
done, what 1s berng done, and what has to be done Ln
order to 1nsure these chlldren the be st ln educatlonal
opportumty What we do to educate the youth now
w1ll be reflected 1n the leaders of tomorrow
