National Honor Society has been earned by the
effective demonstration of the four qualities held
in high esteem of the Society: Scholarship, Ser-
vice, Leadership, and Character. The Society pro-
motes the practice of these four qualities through
the sponsorship of community activities and
school-related fundraisers. The Society is perhaps
the most prestigious club at our school.

This year the newly formed Political Action
Club got oft to a great start. Members of the
club involved themselves in debates, discus-
sions, and student political awareness. They
also attended a model political convention at
Sac State and helped register newly-qualified
voters at Folsom. We hope the P.A.C. will be-
come a lasting part ot Folsom's extra-curricular
tradition.

For the second straight season the young 'DOGS' went
through the Golden Empire League season undefeated
and retained their LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. With an
overall record of 9-O the Bulldogs' went through some
very tough opponents often making it look easy. Ouarter-
back Jeff Gautschi iM.V.P.J lead an offense that averaged
over 35 points per game. However by no means was he
the only offensive threat. Depth was the key as offensive

points per game. Leaders of the defense were ends Chris
Stasko and Dave McDonald, linebacker Trey Blue iCo-
Team Captainl, and defensive backs Rick McCann, Mike

was Mike Norris. Leading to the team's sucess were out-
standing special team players, this group included Tony

The Junior Varsity finished th
season with six wins and ter
losses in league play. J.V. wa
made up of eleven players thai
had never played league volley
ball and four that had seen pre
vious limited playing time the yea
before. Even with the lack of ex
perience , their losses were hard
matches and not easily won b
the other teams. Most games
were closely matched, so it made
the games exciting to watch and
challenging to play.
Folsom had eleven sophomores
and four new freshmen. They
played with desire, dedication,
and determination that you don't
find on J.V. teams. Other schools
in our league thought we had re-
cruited a different squad for the
second half of the season. J. V.
players were often complemented
by other teams.
Congratulations to Kelly lvtor-
eno, most valuable player: Steph-
anie Haxton, most improved of-
fensive playerg Kristen Brown,
most improved defensive player:
and Christina Sharp, most inspira-
tional player.

Rae "Malloy" Logan
1988 FOLSOM HIGH SCHOCDI. 1988
We, the students at Folsom High School, would like to decicate the
1988 'El Ore' to Rae "Malloy" Logan. Mrs. Malloy has spent twenty
years at Folsom High School working and interacting with the stu-
dents and staff. She has been in charge of attendance and records,
but has ridden the busses to games, attended athletic events, plays,
dances, and most all extra-curricular activities. Mrs. Malloy has al-
ways been involved and interested.
The students and staff have enjoyed her friendly smile, her Texas
accent, her loyalty, and her conscientiousness in her job.
We will miss her, but we wish her the best as Mrs. Jack Logan in
Muleshoe, Texas.

lf someone had told me last year I would be laying in bed this year writing the editor's note with
the book almost completed I would have laughed. l've learned a lot this year about what goes into
publishing the EI Oro. Its not an eaisysi-process, but the rewards are great. The yearbook is full of
memories of the past year, il-lomecoming, football games, basketball games, dances, Sadie
Hawkins, the blood drive, andirtfiithefsupplemengt, Junior' Prom, Senior Ball, Junior!Senior Picnic
and finally graduation. l'd like to .thgftkf'DevinfssAjax and Mike Cather for all the work in the
darkroom. Without them we would haveimissed deadlines, causing the book to be late. fWhy do I
feel like l'm writing an acceptance speech for the Oscar's or something?J l'd like to thank the
advertisers who supportedsour yearbook by purchasing ads. To the parents who bought baby
ads, thank you for trying this new idea in our yearbook. To the staff, l leave the yearbook. This is a
joint effort and we all deserve this book! Thank you, also, for selling ads, finishing your layouts,
taking pictures, and even sacrificing your week-end so we could meet our deadline. Finally my
thanks to Mr. Jarman, who sacrificed more than one week-end so we could meet our deadlines. I
hope everyone remembers 1987-88 fondly and looks back in our yearbook to share the memories
of this year. We gave it our best .shot and are proud of the end result. Hope everyone enjoys the
1987-88 EI Oro.
8 Good luck next year,
Karen Woods
