SnNIOR CLA S HISTORY
It doesn't seem posslble that nearly twelve year have passed slnce
a door opened to a group of small boys nd glrls of S1X, fo b6flU thelr
schoollng ln Flushlng Schools wome were happy and gay, others frlght
ened and bashful As no t small chlldren qulckly adjust them elves to
thelr surroundlngs, so lt was w1th us, and lt w s only 1 few days before
we were one happy group
Durlng the elght years we were 1n the element ry rades, our class
roll was sometlmes laroer and sometlmes smaller than the orlglnal number
Those were lmportant years lH our llves We were not only F9CSlVlHg the
baslc tralnlng ln our educatlon, but were also learnlnp one of the lmpor
tant dutles of a c1t1zen to work and to play together as a group
In the fall of l9L8, when we entered hlgh school, we felt just a
llttle more mature It
there were 13 E1P1S and
Mrs Hayes, our faculty
was rather unusual that nn our ireshman class
22 boys Wlth Joella Cunard, our presldent and
advlser, our partles and Hget together H were
events to be remembered by all
herr was our cla s advlser AS sophomores we felt a llttle uperlor to
the lowly fre hmen, but the 1n tlatlng we handed them was no more than
we recelved when we were freshmen
As we entered our JHP1OT year, flCh8Pd Bethel was eelected presl
dent of the class, and U1Sb Campbell was our advlser Thls w the year
e dlsplayed our dramatlc talents 1U our class play, HThe Klsslng Llnkn
We were proud that those who partlclpated 1n the play dld thelr parts so
well, and that all member helped make lt a success flnanclally
And now, as the door lS slowly C1OS1Ug on our last year 1U Flushlng
Schools, we have avaln chosen Rlchard Bethel as our pllot nr Rltchey,
our councelor, w1ll ald us durlng the year and advlse tho e who may wlsh
to ontlnue w1th thelr fonnal educatlon
We have spent
School thanks to
sure there w1ll be
we are outslde the
to face the future
four happy and prof1table years ln rlushlng Hlvh
the patlence and understandlng of our teachers am
a feellng of sadness rhen we recelve our dlolomas and
door of Flushlng school, ready and capable, we hope,
Frances Falthful, 1952

Mr Rex Jan Curen, Manager
The Drlve In and Nalk Out Theater
Phlladelphl , Penn ylvanla
Dear Rex,
I have heard that you w1sh some infornatlon about our graduatlng class
of 1952 Fortunately I am able to P1V8 you most of the lnformatlon you
request, slnce my buslness takes me to all places in the U 3,1 If I don't
flnd out from them personally, ln my tr vels, I am lnfonned by my secre
tary Maxnre Brown, who seems to know everythlng about everybody, and 1f she
doesn't, she dreams lt up
Do you remember how close James Dunlap and Henry hnenlec wereo Those
two have made qu1te a fortune from a cattle ranch 1D Texas I v1s1ted them
only last week, and they showed me some prlze cattle they had purchased
from that great cattle dealer, Carl Smlth, who owns a ranch ln Montana
some of our former classmates have mide thelr fame 1n the sports world
J1m Husarlk 15 now the quarterback on the Cleveland Browns profess1onal
football team He lS cons1dered one of the all tlme greats Incldently, he
as he thoufht he d1d Bob Huffman 1S the Manager Ol the Plttsburgh oteelers,
and J1m hobllck h s orpanlzed a chool, Hfeach Young'uns Young,H to teach
llttle klds how to play football He hopes someday to have a team of hls
own Also Donald Humphrey 15 a midget, WT6St11Hg promoter
I read 1n the newspaper that Fred Hughes 1S holdlng an evangellcal
servlce ln Detrolt He was lntervlewed by a newspaper reporter and sa1d
that the most lmportant lesson that he had learned so far 1S that you have
Hpract1ce what you preach
Yesterday, whlle stopping off ln New York, I V1S1tSd the Metropolltan
Opera You can lmaglne how surprlsed I was to see Frances althful as the
sololst wlth Dorls whlStOH accompanylng her on the plano I understand
that they are to leave next month for a command performance on the shlp,
'Queen hary '
Isn't it remarkable how we can sit at home and watch, through our tele
v1s1on sets, what lS golng on 1n another part of the country? Why, just the
other evenlng, I was watchlng my set and I saw that great col edian, R1CH8Td
Bethel The Brokaw MUSIC murderers, led by Allen Brokaw, supplled the muslc
and the commercial was done by Lewis Adams, the Off1C1a1 taster for the
