TEIE IMPORTANCE OF AIHLETIC TRAINING
Llncoln Ell ott
Prlncipal Brush High School, South Euc1id,Oh1o
At this writlng the Amerlcar fightlng men ln the
P8ClfiC and in Germany are showlng superiority over thelr
enemles There are two Important reasons for thlS, I
thlnk
Flrst, the abllity of the American lndustrlal system
to produce ard dellver the lmplenents of war, and secondly,
the type of fightlng man uslng these weapon
I am lnterested ln both, but tne latter ecelves my
has had a large part in developlng th1 man who has acqultted
h1mself so nobly ln thls great confllct
I don't think lt too presumptious to say that our Amer
lcan schools have taken Pollsh, Itallans, Bohemlan , Swedes,
Chlne e, English, Germans and all the rest and have made
them men whom we call Amerlcans Ald, I am convlnced that
our competitive games of football, basketball, baseball,
track, tennls, golf, and many others played on our fields
and gym floors have contrlbuted a mayor share ln shaplng
our flghtlng men
I am happy to have encouraged and have engaged IH mo t
of these games to my pleasure and I hope 78 shall carry on
to programs of greater merlt and proflt
