• Dolly ' s Diary (continued) April 9 It was a lovely day till I felt exams cumins on. To add to the misery of the day, Mr. Barnum sawed away on a sqeekolin solo in Chapel. April 10 We partake of mid-term exams. Bowlby finds out she is taking education. Song at morning watch is " Help Somebody Today. " April 11 Still dosing up on mid-terms. Betsy Rose Wright begs of us not to call her " Tuts. " Those Chi Sigs and Chi Delta Epsilons stalk around here like they know all the answers. April 13 Poe discovers this is a co-ed school — Linda Mason discovers tuneless tune. And out of the dusk came Eugene \ est with a marigold. April 14 Dean of Women tells all the girls that the familiarity on the campus is perfectly disgusting. Chas. Dickinson made his first mistake today — then he " seen it before he done it and taken it back. " April IS Preston Trotter religiously reads the Time Magazine on the advice of the Gamma Sigs — all of them attrib- ute their ability to make time on the campus to this little bit o ' literature. Wonder who was so brazen as to tell Bill McRae right before the ladies that there ain ' t no Santy Clause. April 16 Nelson Moyer disappoints his public in chapel today — not even a frilly phrase did he produce for the waiting throng. April 17 Theta Kaps have formal banquet. April 18 Boggs looks forlorn — no letter today. Theta Pis spread formal banquet. April 20 Visitor develops pain in the contour of the middle section after partaking of our delicacy commonly called " pressed kitty. " John Spivey glad he doesn ' t have to wrap up in a tux everytimc he calls on Marguerite. April 21 Lawlor tells everybody not to tell anybody that she ' s engaged again. Kappa Gams pluck posies for the Deanie-weanie. April 22 Pikes discover clues concerning their much treasured pennant, which mysteriously disappeared some months ago. April 23 Helen Rackley and Leila Woodburn claim honors for campus old maids. Notice in the desk book that Hall signed out to go to tea. April 24 Feaster makes deck of cards out of report slips. Dreamed in education class this morning that our varsitv tiddley-winks team defeated Yale by a score of 2 for 1. April 25 Chi Deltas Nus crusade to Tampa to hold formal banquet. Jackson still trying to find some lonely little girl who will fall in love with him. Preacher Carr advises him against any such foolishness, says that that ' s wdiat ' s wrong with this Christian institution now. April 27 Theta Pis wonder what will become of their problem child, V.M. — after she goes into a tantrum over a bit of correspondence like she did this morning. Agnes Johnson hears off-color joke — wonders what this younger generation is going for and when. April 28 Beta Mus fumigate atmosphere with Battle Hymn of the Republic — only the Phi Delta come out to get sur- rounded by any such carrying on. April 29 Bostick declines nomination as best taxi caller on campus. Phi Delta holds slumber party to prevent the rest of the shut-ins from slumbering. April 30 Nursie informs Stevens that the infirmary is not a place for the smitten — but exclusively for the stricken with the exception of those struck by moon lightning. Robert Henry finds that all girls aren ' t as dumb as they look. May 1 Kappa Gams wonder what ' s become of that racket swinging power claimed for their own little Cleo. 179
