Mrs. B. H. Puryear who serves in the capa- city of director of education, came to our cam- pus in nineteen hundred and fifty, with her hus- band, President R. W. Puryear. During her six years here, she has been of service to our school, its students and the community. She carries a full time schedule, being the FIRST LADY, with the responsibility of promoting the social and Civic life which goes hand and hand with the President ' s work. Because she has given guidance and help to numerous students as sponsor of many activities which promote ideal student life, and because she is a splendid example of all that is fine and ad- mirable; because we love and appreciate her. Because of her never tiring guidance and assist- ance to the year book staff, we the members of the year book staff take this opportunity to pay tribute to Mrs. Puryear, because she is just grand.

Let the words of our mouths and the medita- tions of our hearts be accepted in thy sight. . . . oh Lord, our strength and our redeemer Florida Normal, being a Christian institution has set aside a moment each day for silent med- itation. Each day at twelve o ' clock noon there is the sounding of a bell, this bell is identified as the Prayer bell. At the sounding of this bell, we bow.no matter where we are on campus, and no matter what we are doing at the time. . . .to give thanks to our creator.
