Senior class officers: Head Boy-Tom Camerlo, Head Girl-Lydia Garcia, Vice president-jane Esquibcl, Presidcnt-Suzette Jackson, Treasurer-Sherri Hicks, Secretary-Leon Cortez, Representatives-Jon James and Janet Tuley. Mr. Lamm and Mrs. Love are the senior class sponsors. Leon Cortez puts the finishing touches on a portrait. Leon shows off between two of his finished pieces of work. The type of work that is his speciality is portraits. He has also sold many pieces of his work, the highest going for $155.00. The first piece he sold was for $55.00. In all he has sold six of his projects, ranging in prices from $25.00 to $155.00. Leon has a great future ahead of him in art with his talent. He plans to attend the Colorado Institute of Art and further his career as a commercial artist or fashion illustrator. The yearbook staff would like to wish Leon the very best and prosperity in his career and life. Good luck, Leon, and thank you for adding your talents to the yearbook. It's hard to ignore Leon Cortez when he walks into room. His enthusiasm and flamboyancy about life and how he copes with situations is a unique characteristic about him. When asked how he felt about his work being printed on this year's yearbook cover, he said: I like the idea, it gives me a better perspective on how to design professionally. Leon has always been interested in art, and has won numerous awards, including three blue ribbons in the Pikes Peak League art show, three blue ribbons of merit at the Extravaganza and a third place ribbon at the Pikes Peak League art show.
