R I FOREWORD..............4 HAPPENINGS-67.........6 OUTSTANDING PEOPLE...26 ATHLETICS...............48 ORGANIZATIONS...........66 STUDENT BODY.........86 FACULTY.............-HO SENIOR INDEX........J1 AUTOGRAPHS..........119 ADS.................124 From the Classes of 1924 through 1967 to MISS ANNA JANE HITCHCOCK What is Florence High School? It is friends to be with, six-weeks tests, working for four years to be an almighty senior and dates after Friday night ball games. It is homework, graduation, pep assemblies, concerts, plays, being late to class, term papers, and of course, report cards. Yet Florence High School is more than this; it is you, each of you. Florence High School would not be what it is if it were not for the leadership and initiative of the hard-working people like yourself. Every school has its leaders, but it also takes followers who must work together with the leaders, to make a team which ultimately achieves its goals. The teachers of Florence High should also be recognized for they play an important part in the life of your school. They bring you education, the main purpose of F. H. S. They help you choose the right path to follow, and through their guidance each of you are shown how to develop the potential greatness which is within you. Seniors of 67 as you leave Florence High School, each of you will leave something behind, but more important, you will take something away with you. Florence High will have contributed a little to the future of each of you. What is Florence High School? It is a great many people and activities; it is the stepping stone in your life. Florence High is the sum total of each of you students and each one's personality. This is Florence High. Now the annual staff invites you to take a candid look at people and activities that make up our school, Florence High 1967. The 1967 Husky is dedicated to Miss Anna Jane Hitchcockin gratitude for the 43 years of her dedicated life given to instructing and molding Florence High School students. A teacher affects eternity; He can never tell where his influence stops. —The Education of Henry Adams ■ HAPPENINGS - 67 REGISTRATION Confusion, apprehension, and disappointment become a part of the student's life as summer ends and study begins. Books, locks and rooms are memorized. Teachers examined, parties planned, and with the beginning comes the end--------------------- of summer. 8 As 8:45 approaches everyone awaits another day of books and assignments. Students attend many different classes in which they attain their main goal—EDUCATION. Advice and counseling become a part of the student's day at school. Did you do last night's homework?? Not me.. Quick!! I need the answer to this question.. Now, the equation for this is.. What are we sup- posed to be doing???? On and on goes the morning. Can it really still be second hour?? You mean we still have an hour till lunch?.... The reason I'm in here is to get last night's homework done... Gym Class sure makes a person hungry. Third hour and this means LUNCH HOUR NEXT! !! Just remembered, I've got a test next hour. Lunch hour is finally here. Students rush to get their favorite booth. I want a hamburger. Thirty cents for that For a short while school is forgotten and the happenings of the day are the topic. When the 12:30 bell rings there are only a few short minutes left before the school day resumes. Come on guys, I want to see too!!! I'll never get this work finished before the end of class... This is a good time to sleep, the day is almost over... 19 Looks as though some people are out of class early. Could it be they are anxious for that final bell to ring In any case, the day is almost over, hey, what time is it??.... Only one minute till the bell. Yea! the school day is over!! What do we have for homework?? I don't have any, how about you?.... I wonder sometimes, if they really know what I mean? .... An empty class room means one more school day COMPLETED. 22 Although the 3:30 bell has sounded to end the school day, some students are still around. The sounds are, Don't forget play practice.....Where were you second hour?..........Shall we wrap the pole in blue and white or blue and gold?..........Put a lot of salt on the pop corn, that way we sell more pop. 25 Homecoming is a busy time for everyone. The classes are trying to get their floats finished. The bon-fire is the goal of the Freshmen. They are trying to make it bigger and better than last year's. The height of Homecoming is the crowning of the queen, Karen Knisley, during half time at the football game 26 28 OUTSTANDING PEOPLE 30 John Perna and Lona Noe were recipients of the Elks Youth Scholarships, presented by Albert DiNardo. Tom Moore received the trophy for being the outstanding football player for the 1966 season at FHS. But, it wasn't just the players who helped to win the game, it also took the rest of the student body with their great spirit and driving force which was behind the team all the way. To the last second of play everyone was proud, couragous, loyal, alert, and dedicated because that is what it takes to be a Fighting Husky in Florence High School.
