This world is filled with knowledge. It is the duty of the teachers at Florence High to aid the student in becoming receptive to this knowledge. Each student must, in one way or another take his place in this world. He is either prepared or unprepared; his preparation is dependent upon how well he has received and accepted the knowledge which surrounds him every day. Some young people neither look for knowledge nor accept it when they are exposed to it, but others do look for it and do accept it. One of the questions they ask as they search for knowledge is “What is Florence High School?” Florence High is . .. chaos between classes, touchdown passes, semester exams, studies, buddies, things to do, a point of view . . . teachers, books, labs, essay questions (take a stab), English themes, dramatic screams . . . hard work, homework, slow work, no work . . . these form memories . . . memories of ... . « MOMENTS MOMENTS MOMENTS MOMENTS M MCMTC HOMECOMING .... disappointment, frustration and fun. The crowning of a queen . . . Last minute touches on the float . . . . tension before the game .... The anticipation of the Homecoming Dance. Listening, talking, thinking, walking, seeing, being .... this is Florence High School .... this and more .... 13 “The individual is the category through which this age, all history, the human race as a whole, must pass.” Soren Kierkegaard, 1859 .........you cannot only look or feel or hunger; you must try to know why you do these.
