Freshmen Class Officers Keiih Holland, Vics-president; Phillip Cardon, President; Mr. Robert Phelps, Sponsor; Virginia Cornelia, Secretary; Albert Martinko, Treasurer. Freshmen Memories In the early fall of 1950, sixty-seven big-eyed, bashful, Freshmen entered the Florence High School. Under the sponsorship of Miss Marge Dwyer and Mr. Robert Phelps we have had a very successful year. We started out by winning third place in our Homecoming float, with “Welcome” as our theme. Several of our Freshmen boys started the athletic program with a bang. They were Jimmy Provenzano, Donald Proud, Raymond Knisley, Carl Huerta, Johnny Ettleman, Pete Del Duco, Daniel Nerone and Glen McCready. Jimmy Provenzano and Donald Proud both received their letters with very high honors. The Sophomore class gave us a ‘‘Get-acquainted party” in November, which we returned in January. The Western Day program, sponsored by the Seniors, gave the Freshmen great pleasure in taking part by presenting “Froshie Freshie Dog Food” radio program. The Freshman class enjoyed a Christmas dance December 19th in the gymnasium. As we ccme to the close of our Freshman year, we are all looking forward to a happy and successful Sophomore year.
