On September 8, forty-eight earnest Seniors started their last year of high school. The first class meeting was held to elect class officers. The year was started off right, and our class was well represented in all athletics. Several boys in the class won football letters and basketball letters, and many won membership in the “F” Club. The Senior girls won second place in the inter-class basketball contest. Both boys and girls were out for tennis, track, soft-ball, and volleyball. Many of the students were out for dramatics. Some showed their talent in the all school plays, and in the Thespian play. Others were out for Mask and Wig, and a few joined Thespians. “The Eyes of Tlaloc,” the Senior play, was presented on May 14. It was a three act mystery and was voted a success by a large audience. On March 19 all Seniors appeared at school in costumes of different colors to celebrate the annual costume day, and on April 23 Dress-Up-Day was held. On May 7, all Seniors became kids again before graduating and donned kid clothes, carried dolls, and ate lollypops. The annual this year, which was sponsored by the Senior class, was given the name “Highlights of ’37.” This name will be the official name for the annual in the coming years FROM, the social event that all Seniors look forward to, was held on April 30. The Juniors proved themselves to be perfect hosts, and the Seniors are indebted to them for such a wonderful time. Class Day was held on May 21, when the Senior class entertained the student body with a program. On May 26 the Seniors held their banquet, after which they were hosts to the whole student body at a dance in the gym. On May 23, the Baccalaureate exercises were conducted for the graduates, and on May 28 the Commencement exercises were held. Diplomas were presented by Superintendent R. R. Morrow to fifty-one members. CLASS OFFICERS PRESIDENT ...................... Bill Zontine VICE-PRESIDENT ....................Sara Davis SECRETARY ....................
