Bicentennial Celebration Flomoton High students ore proud of the PRIDE ond spirit we display toward our school. Our loyalties go much deeper, how- ever. We os o student body proved this patriotism as we commemorated the 200fh birthday of the American Con- stitution. After the recitation of the pledge, everyone stood respectfully through the ploy- ing of the national onthem ond speeches given by various speak- ers. The program, directed by the 11th grade CP American history doss, was under the leadership of Mrs. Martha Pugh. As the program concluded with the bond's rendi- tion of Amazing Groce. the stu- dents filed bock to theit respective classrooms with full hearts ond a renewed sense of PRIDE in being on American os well os o Hurricane.

DOWN YDS. TO GO QTR. I 10 H ESCAMBIA COUNTY BANK ' YOUR FULL SERVICE BRNK A humbling experience it was indeed. Twenty years had passed before the CANES could defeat the Dlackcats on their own turf. This year was the exception, os the unstoppable Cones dominated their cross-town rivals. The onnuol gome is nearly always the highlight of both team's respective seasons. Previous records and rankings ore irrelevant. This is more than o gome; it's broggin' rights and the school's honor ot stoke. The Friday night confrontation was actually the climax of o whole week's revelry. Everything to which o poster could be toped, or anything that could be decorated was. Cars, lockers, clothes, ond even faces bore the Cones logo. It seemed olmost no one was immune to Cone fever during this emofionally- tense week. For the post two yeors. the Cones hove come out on top of the heap. Hopefully, this trodition will continue. 13
