Homecoming Court During homecoming pregame ceremonies, Beth Watson was crowned 1983 Homecoming Queen by Mr. Ken Corbin. Beth was escorted by Tim Green. First runner-up, Susan Locklier, was escorted by Ray Holland. Michelle Lister, escorted by Brian Peebles, was the second runner-up and Teresa Spears, escorted by Dar- ryl Jackson, received third runner-up. The other atten- dants and escorts were: 11th — Lynn Mclnnis and Stan Smith; 10th — Marilyn Johnson and Steven Bell; 9th — Shellie Booth and Greg Fillmore; 8th — Jimmie Courtney and Jason Fields. 1. Thanks Mrs. Young this 1984 yearbook to Mrs. Christine Young for her years of dedicated service to young people. Our wish to you upon your retirement is that you may see these years as Shakespeare described them: “Our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.” The Perfect Witch, ’73; The Grass Harp, ’74; Don’t Blow the Whistle, ’ 77; Breaker Calling Cinderella, ’81; and The Unin- vited, ’82. Mrs. Young, who always stresses manners and behavior as well as subject matter, in- structed her students to rise when an adult entered her classroom. She also showed her school spirit and supported the athletic program. The yearbook staff dedicates During her fourteen years at FHS (1969-1983), Mrs. Christine Young taught courses in social studies, family living, math, art, and English. She also served as senior sponsor for six years. One of her special interests was drama and during her years at Flomaton, she directed many outstanding senior plays.
