io 0 Annua c EDITOR Gloria Emmett CO-EDITOR Margaret Barrow BUSINESS MANAGER Joyce Hines ADVISOR Mrs. Margaret Caldwell Innuci c STAFF Left to right, Doreen Silcox, Judy Bonds, Bobby Dean, and Nancy McDavid. Oec ication To our helpful and patient sponsor - Mrs. Margaret Caldwell - we, the yearbook staff of 1964, proud- ly dedicate this edition of the HURRICANE. No words can express our deep and sincere feelings toward this teacher and friend who has so faithfully guided and directed us through three years of annual production. We realize that she is more than worthy of this honor and tribute for without her help, Flomaton High School's last three annuals would not have been possible. The Hurricane Staff Gloria Emmett Editor Our JJrincipa — MR. JOHN L. FOLSOM He has been Principal here going on the sev- enth year. He was born in October, 1926, on the ninth day. He attended Livingston State and Alabama. He majored in Social Studies and School Administra- tion. He is a Methodist and serves his church as a Steward. He is a man who likes to play basketball . . . who likes to read when he has the time. Fried chicken is his favorite food. Principal’s Message We excuse our neglect of God in the age in which we live, to the hurried pace we find our- selves. We need to slow down and sit in quiet soli- tude and meditate and let light come through the darkness. It is important that we realize that We are responsible for our own actions - responsible to ourselves, our fellow man and above all, to our God. God said, Let there be light and there was light,” and we must strive to light the candles of learning and understanding instead of cursing the darkness. My solemn prayer is that each class of our school and especially the class of '64 will often- times remember his responsibility to his fellow man and to his God. SECRETARY Trustees - 1964 Mr. Sid Steely Mr. Ovis White Mr. A. R. Bethea Mrs. Lola Weaver Graduate of F.H.S. in 1941. She has had two children to finish here and one in the Senior Class this year.
