The portals we enter at the start of our day. The friends made here, our teachers, the achievements won, disappointments suffered (but wisdom gained), and knowledge acquired. It would be hard to forget the crowded halls . . . the hours wasted during study halls . . . the assemblies ... the excitement of a close game ... the passes” ... the bumpy bus rides . . . cramming for tests . . . report card time ... the discussions in classes . . . the mad scramble for the door at 2:45 . . . We need to have an understanding of what knowledge and wisdom really are. Knowledge is an accumulation of learning from all the various experiences we have at school, at home, at play, and throughout our lifetime. We gain knowledge in history, math, athletics, physical education, band, English and all other areas in which we take part. Wisdom is knowing what to do with the knowledge we have. The greatest wisdom is knowing the difference in right and wrong. We should use the statement, All I want to do is what's right,” and realize we betray ourselves, our friends, our parents, and our God if we fail to do what’s right. Sincerely, John L. Mr. Warren was born in DeKalb, Miss. , where he attended DeKalb Consolidated Schools. After graduating from there, he finished two years at East Mississippi Jr. College and four years at Livingston State College where he received his B. S. degree. He will receive his M. Ed. degree this summer from Auburn University. Mr. Warren's favorite food is fried chicken; color is blue and movie is King of Kings. His hobby is hunting and fishing and his birth- day is May 1. (He refused to tell the year.) Roy Tatum, right tackle for Flomaton, won a football scholar- ship to Auburn University. He will be missed by the Hurricanes next year. Mae Rigby is President of Escambia County 4-H Club. Carole, captain, whose interest in athletics won her the title of Most Athletic and Mary Faye, whose personality and eagerness to boost spirit has won her the title of Most School Spirit, will be missed next year. Spirits are high and school enthusiasm overflowing, as the thrill of the drum majorette's whistle announces the beginning of another halftime show. Under the dedicated leadership of Mr. Hollingsworth, this musical multitude works together and individually as hard as they can in order to present top quality per- formances at the Flomaton games, at home and away.
