“Zke Jiurricane” I960 Official yearbook of 9iomatbn High School JlomatoH, Alabama foreword Time stops for no one . . . It is ageless . . . racing . . . never ending . . . Bringing with it the excitement of new friends . . . new places . . . Good times and those not so good . . . The forgettable and unforgettable . . . Happiness . . . sadness . . . Then the end and a regret when it is all over. As time goes on, so goes Flomaton High and the students which are its part. Some come back for another year . . . Others go on to college ... to universities ... or out into the world of work. Flomaton High is many things . . . The haze of autumn . . . excitement of football . . . the band . . . clubs and initiations . . . Learning . . . forgetting . . . testing . . . and the cycle begins again . . . Picnics and pleasures . . . work and play . . . This life at Flomaton High will remain forever in the memory of those who shared in it. We, the Annual Staff, in recogni- tion of one who has a personal in- terest in each student in the school to the extent that she will go out of her way to help them, and who unselfishly gave of her timeto help in our many extracurricular activ- ities, do dedicate this the 1960 Hurricane to Mrs. J. I. Gibson JlomatoH High... Our Alma Mater Our Alma Mater, We will not falter. To love thy honor and sing thy praise. Thy years of teaching to us beseeching. To be true, in all we do, Through all our days. The years we've been here. Are years we hold dear, They make us feel near, Although we part. As years roll by Thou wilt be nigh. We always will Love, thee still Within our hearts. Although we're leaving. Our hearts are grieving Our thoughts are weaving, Sweet dreams of you. When trials beset us, Please don't forget us So we part with fond heart. And sad adieu. Annual Staff JO ANN WHITE, Editor Zhe Staff MRS. GIBSON, Advisor Cafeteria Workers Mrs. Burkett. Mrs. Holt, and Lena Zable of Contents Administration faculty Seniors {juniors Sophomores {junior High Organizations Activities favorites Athletics Elementary Advertisers Principal’s Message We may spend our time idly wish- ing for success to come our way, or we may be so contented with our accomplishments until we be- come useless; however, the sure way to succeed is by sticking with a task until it has been completed. To the class of 1960, I wish much luck and success. Three years ago this class started their senior high school days in my first year at Flomaton. I've grown very close to them and have enjoyed helping them through these three eventful years in their lives. It is my ear- nest desire that the class of 1960 will go forth into the world with determination to maintain a good character, since this is the most important virtue one can possess. May each of you have faith enough in your ability and depend upon God's guidance in the pathway to the future. ■faculty COACH HATCHER Social Studies COACH LEMASTER Science MRS.
