THE 1957 HURRICANE published by THE SENIOR CLASS of Flomaton High School Flomaton, Alabama WE DEDICATE 2 The Seniors of Flomaton High School dedicate this annual to our parents who are the, ones most re- sponsible for any and everything that we might ac- complish in the years to come. As we look over our past years in school we remember the many things that they have done for us. We dedicate this annual to them as a small token of our appreciation of the guidance in our homes. We will always be indebted to our parents for the training they have given us. It is our sincere hope that the homes we build in the future will be as happy as the homes on these two pages. 3 ANNUAL STAFF Jane Jones, Carl White, Ovies White, Una Ray Bethea, James White, Hda Ruth Traweek, Nathan Emmons, Jennette Carden, Benny Jud Strength, Margaret Moye, Jimmy Justice, Dorthy Traweek. LUNDY For Centuries man's income and standard of living have been determined by his knowledge of certain skills. Today, this is a greater challenge to your youth than any previous generations. Today's students have the greatest potential of any students in the world. With the conversion of atomic power to peacetime use, and domestic consumption, there is no ceiling for the accomplishments of our students. For the last thirty years educational leaders of Alabama have tried to bring education to the from through this challenge to the patronage and students of our school. I would like to pass it on to you. Students, you can build the level of skill in using your resources that will give you any level of in- come you want. Whether you make the state one of the most, if not the most, prosperous in the world is entirely up to you. I’ll leave the challenge with you to do what you want to do with it. 9 FACULTY Mrs. LUNDY Commercial subjects Mr. BROCK English Mrs. PARKINGSON Math Mrs. WATERS Jr. Math Mrs. CUNNINGHAM Jr. Social Studies Mrs. GO RAM Physical Education COACH WEED Mrs. KNIGHT Jr. Science English Mr. C.
