BETA CLUB The National Beta Club is a non-secret, honorary scholarship-service organization for high school students or America Its objects are: To encourage scholarship: To promote character; and to stimulate leadership among its members The purpose or this organization shall be the promotion or scholastic excellence and the cultivation or the ideals or loyalty, courage, honesty and leadership among high school students The Membership is limited to those students or the junior and senior classes whose scholastic standing is sufficiently creoitable to indicate superior mental quali- fications No student, however, may attain membership without the recommendation of the administrative head of the local high school The Beta Club is not anti 1 anything; it is in competition with no educational system or organization; it has no purpose except to assist teachers and students to consummate the eno and aim or ALL true education namely, mental enlargement and character development It is an eleemosynary organization controlled and di- rected BY EDUCATORS WHO ARE ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN EDUCATIONAL WORK. The Local Chapter was chartered in 1937. The first Flomaton High School Year-Book WAS SPONSORED BY THE BETA CLUB THIS CHAPTER HAS ALSO GIVEN MANY BOOKS TO THE Library.
