Just four short years ago, 1n l9L9, there walked through the
portals of F11HtV11lB Hlgh School a group of forty tdree brlght
eyed boys and g1rls wlth one dream IH mind to graduate in four
years Thls group w called Wgreen freshmenn by the upper class
men We were wllling to accept the freshmen part but never the
'green' for we had just GHADUATED from grade school an understood
all there was to know, but soon we dlscovered that we had a lotto
learn In trying tube good students, we buckled down and started
working hard to make th1s Wgreen freshmenn class one of the be st
to graduate from F H S
Included among our accompl1shments durlng the flrst year was
a play, WCom1ng Round The Mountalnn, a comedy well presented
c8CCOPd1Hg to the ovatlonl Our representatives for Klng and
Queen of the Harvest Festival were placed second by a close mar
gln We contrlbuted to the basketball team two glrls who st1ll
remaln on the team What more could one ask from the freshmen?
Wlth the title of Hfreshmenn gone, we entered our Sophomore
year still determined to do great thlngs, however, the year pass
ed without too much happening Our play,WLook Me In The Eyeq was
not too successful, and we recelved thlrd place in the Harvest
We started our Junlor year expectlng tagaln more recognltlon
cause th1s was the year we became nupper classmenn we took on
the respons1b1lity of the Jun or Senlor Banquet whnch we smncere
ly hope and trust all those who attended enjoyed Our play,
'Bolts And Nutsn, was fa1rly well presented Agaln, we came 1n
second in the Harvest Festival race
We began the Sen1or year w1th our enrollment dwlndled down
to a mere thlrty two, some had gone to the servlces, some to the
matrimon1a1 fleld, and some had stopped by the wayslde Now w1th
our dreams almost realized, we pause to wonder if we have accom
plished as much as we had anticlpated when we entered F H S four
years ago As we go our separate ways at the close of th1s term
and choose what we shall do w1th our lives from here on, only
then can we know how much h1story we have written in the annuals
of time, for whatever those vocations may be we must g1ve due
credlt to the instructlons we rece1ved wh1le passing through
Flintville High School We may not have done anyth1ng too great,
but we are proud of what little we have accomplished and can only
hope that in the future we may make our records, wherever we may
go, just a little better So we, the class of 1953, Say f3FeW911
to a great school and a great faculty
