NND HI CLASSMATES Did you ever wonder where the name Kinlani came from? It was chosen from the Navajo word "Khin-tani-dok-oo-sted biy-a-gif, meaning, umany houses below the San Francisco Mountains." I hope you will find your most pleasant memories of this year in the 1950 Kinlani. May you always remember this year spent in one of the "Houses Below the San Francisco Mountains." Let me introduce to you lchabod, The Worm: He will be our little mascot throughout this Kinlani. We hope you will learn to love him like the Kinlani Staff has during this school year. The Editor DB! DEAR FLAGSTAFF men PRINClPAL'S MESSAGE MR. W. F. KILLIP Principal TO THE CLASS OF 1950 Members of the graduating class: You have come to an important period in your own lives and of deep interest to us. As the representa- tive of the faculty, I have a few words to say. Your education has not yet been completed--it has only begun. Your school days here have been only a start to increase your develop- ment. lt has been only a stepping-stone, and as you step out into the avenues of life you must look for new food, as there is ample to be gained. Don't shut your eyes to the truth and do not enshroud your lives in a cloud that will keep out the light. The future is beautiful, broad, and entrancing to you and we trust you will make the most of it. In whatever you choose as your after-high school pursuit, the very best wishes of the faculty and students of Flagstaff High School accompany you. yn if MISS MYRTISE WARVOCK Secretary GMD QF ZDUCATICDN STURGEON CROMER MRS. We have had an exciting and brilliant career in Flagstaff High School. In our Freshman year the Traditional Barn Dance was a huge success. Our Sophm mlii ore Dance was held after a football game and both out of town students and Flagstaff High students enjoyed themselves. The theme for our Junior Prom was "Apple Blossom Time" and though we worked hard on decorations the dance turned out to he the hest in years. Under the guidance of our Senior Sponsors, this year's Hop, "White Chrismzasf' turned out to be an overwhelming success. SPONSORS ROBERT M Mooar DoRoTHY BRIERLEY CLASS DFFICERS DAVID COMEZ.
