W. Scott Switzer Lieutenant Switzer was born 21 November 1 969 in Klamath Falls.Oregon. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1 992 with a bachelor ' s degree in Computer Science. Following graduation, Lieutenant Switzer attended Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida from September 92 to February 93, Nuclear Prototype in Balston Spa, New York from March 93 to August 93 and SWOS in Newport, Rhode Island from September 93 to February 94. He was then assigned to USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) from March 94 to April 97 as Reactor Laboratory Officer and later as Chemistry and Radiological Controls Assistant. He also completed his Nuclear Engineering certification during this period of time. After LINCOLN, Lieutenant Switzer was assigned to COMN AVAIRPAC asTraining Officer on the Nuclear Propulsion Mobile Training Team from May 97 to June 99. During his two years on the MobileTraining Team, Lieutenant Switzer visited 1 1 different countries while performing approximately 20 ship visits. He also attended Southern Methodist University via a distance learning program during this period, earning a master ' s degree in Engineering Management. Lieutenant Switzer is married to the former Alicia Maria Lynch of Cerritos,California. They ave two children, Matthew, age 5, and Ryan age 2. The Switzer ' s currently reside in Chula Vista, California. 27

Joseph P. Naman 26 Lieutenant Commander Naman is a native of Maryville,Tennessee and is a 1 989 graduate of Auburn University. After attending Surface Warfare Officer School Division Officer Course in San Diego, California, he reported aboard USS WADDELL (DDG 24) in San Diego, California as Communications Officer, Combat Information Center Officer, and Operations Officer. While serving in WADDELL, LCDR Naman augmented Commander Destroyer Squadron 21 Staff during Operation Desert Storm. Upon detachment from WADDELL in 1 992, LCDR Naman was assigned to Precommissioning Unit CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54) as Fire Control Officer. After three years in CURTIS WILBUR, he was assigned to Surface Warfare Development Group Detachment West in San Diego, California as Assistant Officer in Charge. Following Surface Warfare Officer School Department Head Course in Newport, Rhode Island and various AEGIS training courses, he reported to USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) as Weapons Officer. Subsequently, he has assumed duty as Combat Systems Officer. LCDR Naman ' s awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (with two gold stars), and various campaign and unit awards. LCDR Naman is married to the former Mary Elizabeth Homen of Laguna Beach, California. They are proud parents of Ryan and Ross. The family currently resides in Lakeside, California.
