Student Council HE STUDENT COUNCIL of Fife High School has been organized since March, l929. The Council, the law-making body of the school, is controlled by the students and advised by the superintendent. The voting members are the Student Body officers, who also serve as Student Council officers, and two representatives from each class. Each club has one representative. The members from the clubs have the right to debate, but not to vote. The purpose of the council is to aid in governing the school, to supervise school activities, and to promote the best interests of the school. This year the council found its constitution out of date on several points. Its chief work was the amending of the constitution. These amend- ments pertained to membership, requirements for membership, and letter requirements in the different sports. The council also introduced student tickets, which proved a big suc- cess. The tickets were a bargain to the students and brought a larger turn out to the games. ln addition to the improvements that were made on the school gounds, such as the new lawn and the tennis court, a moving picture machine was . - purchased during the year. lt will be used for the Gi iv benefit of the students, not as a money-making 5 proposition. The pictures shown will be educa- tional as well as entertaining. The following officers ably led the council during the year: Bill Pettit, presidentg Carol Paul, vice-president, Mary Ellen Benthien, secretaryg Kozo Kuroda, treasurer, Mr. Hall, adviser. th MR, HALL v - Y., 9, '.
