OD DIVISION OD Division, commonly referred to as 1st Division , is comprised entirely of the Boat- swain ' s Mate (BM) rating. Deck preservation, underway replenishment, helicopter deck operations, operation and maintenance of the ship ' s motor whaleboat and captain ' s gig, marlinspike seamanship, anchoring and mooring evolutions are all in a days work for the BM ' s of 1st Division.
