SPECIAL RECOGNITION Every faculty member at Ferndale deserves to be recognized by the school yearbook at one time or another. One member, however, particularly stands out and deserves to be especially recognized. He is an excellent teacher, a conditioned athlete, and an outstanding coach. In his years at FAHS he has taught his students the benefits of every aspect of physical education. Through his superb coaching, he has taught many high school football players how to accept the downfalls of defeat as well as the glories of victory. He is truly a special teacher and deserves special recognition. He is Mr. George Marsh. 36 First Row: G. Herbert, D. Gray, B. Riffle, B. Hassell, G. Chemrys, M. Sheehan,J. Bafia, D. Ziemba.J. A TIME FOR US A Time For Us — to anticipate, to enjoy, to remember. To anticipate while trying on gowns and tuxedos, ordering flowers and filling gas tanks. To enjoy while dining, dancing, and dreaming. To remember while looking back on fun years at F.A.H.S. The Awards Assembly is an annual event which is presented to honor the seniors in the areas of academics, athletics, character, and service. There were many awards bestowed, and although the trophies come in many different shapes and sizes, they had one thing in common: each award went to a well-deserving student. We would like to congratulate everyone honored at the assembly, and say a special thank-you to all who participated but did not receive an award for their effort. 44 GRADUATION 76 Graduation is a happy time for the seniors and their proud parents. Every senior will have many fond memories of FAHS as he departs and begins a new life for himself. 46 This past year at Ferndale High has been a unique one to say the least. It all began on Tuesday, September 7. At about 7:30 A.M., senior high students began filing in and scrambling around the large white building that they had known so well. It was a time for greeting old friends and even making new ones. The day seemed just like any other normal first day of school. Who said there’s no time School's out! Now what do we do? The Junior 48 SESSIONS full of Senior High! Maybe we can hide up here. Then it came — 12 o’clock — the hour of change. The day had ended for the senior high, and the students were preparing to leave the building. When, suddenly through the auditorium doors came throngs of little” students, ready to punch in for the day’s second shift. It was their turn to learn. They were the district’s junior high. At 4:30 P.M., the halls were empty, and the administration with a sigh of relief. It worked! It really worked! Every day after that until the end of the school year, grades 7 through 12 and their respective instructors learned to share their school and have fun doing it. Congratulations administration and school board members — for successfully creating one of the most memorable years at FAHS. Dream on. High Gang 49 ONIWOD3WOH JINGLE BELLS 52 53 TEAMWORK. The results of these many important games, matches, meets and tournaments are not always remembered by exact scores. Yearly, the REFLECTOR staff provides score records for future reference needs. The Winter of 11 brought many obstacles to public schools, including cancellations and postponements of many sport events. Therefore, it is with regret that we provide only a partial record of scores attained by our Jackets. 85 EASY GOING. QUALIFIED. NURTURING WITH EXPERIENCE. AUTHORITY. ACCEPTED OR QUESTIONED. SPECIAL.
