THE ES IS THE ATION OF ITS YOUTH . . . . If there ever was cause, if there ever can be cause, worthy to be upheld by all the toil or sacrifice that the human hand or heart can endure, it is the cause of education. Good citizens of a democratic country must think as straight as they can, look squarely at the facts, and not be afraid to take things as they really are. Being a good citizen is more than thinking straight. Good ciitzens must act. If we are going to discharge our responsibili- ties in ways that are worthy of freedom, we must also have the right attitudes, the right feeling toward our ideals and toward our fellow Americans. We must learn to trust each other if we are going to work together.
