imiwiimiiiiiiB COMMENCEMENT COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER Mr Thomas N. Todd, a native of Demopolis, Alabama, is a practicing attorney in Chicago. Illinois. He is an alumnus of Southern University (1959) where he earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He also received the Juris Doctorate in 1963 from Southern University, where he received many honors for academic excellence. Mr. Todd has been involved in many important civil rights cases. He developed the first federal criminal case against a Chicago policeman for deprivation of an individual ' s civil rights in 1968. He organized and established the first Civil Rights Office in a local U.S. Attorney ' s Office in the country in 1969. He has argued cases before the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals, the Supreme Courts of Louisiana. Illinois and the U.S. Supreme Court. A dynamic speaker. Mr. Todd has had speaking engagements on many of the nation ' s college campuses, as well as on university campuses abroad. He has been the recipient of many awards. L-R Mr Thomas N Todd.
