FO0TBALL FAYETTEVILLE 6l HUNTSVILLE 7 The Bulldogs opened their l9h8 seasonby com- pletely routing the visiton:September lO. Try- on Lewis led the scoring by making 3 touchdowns in the fivetimes he carried the pigskin. Rich- ard Holt, Pat Steele, aniFred Curtis backed him up with 2 counters each. FAYETTEVILLE S3 ALMA O Lewis again turned in 3 touchdowns and Holt, M oon, and Steele added to the total. Joe Rob- inson turned in a fine MO-yard pass to Lewis for a touchdown and the best play of the night. Holt turned a sensational 52-yard sideline to sideline run to the goal. FAYETTEVILLE 3h SILOAM SPRINGS 6 The Dogs took to theair to wrest their third victory from Siloam. Robinson did passing. Lewis was again high point more counters to his credit. M oon accounted for the rest of the scores. some fine man with 3 and Trumbo FAYETTEVILLE h5 HARRISON 7 Carlton M oon led the Bulldog attack against the Goblins. Lewis, Holt, and Trumbo added to the score. Joe Robinson launched his passing xttack in the secondquarter by throwing ll pas- ses. Lashley and Pratt were outstanding in the line. FAYETTEVILLE 6 FORT SMITH 27 The only Bulldog score in this battle at Grizzly Stadium was made by Carlton Mhoon on a right end sweep, early in the first quarter. Cecil Parker, Richard Holt, Tryon Lewis, David Lashley and Robert Elderton also showed well. wells of Fort Smith was outstanding. FAYETTEVILLE 22 VAN BUREN 33 The boys played one of their best games of the year, only to lose it in the last minutes of play. M oon, Holt, Lewis, Parker, Pratt, Ro- binson, and Atkinson turned in gilt-edged per- formances. Mhoon scored twice, Lewis once. FAYETTEVILLE 39 EENTONVILLE O Lewis and M oon led the Bulldogs to their fifth victory with 3 tallys each. M oon opened the scoring and he and Lewis alternated for scores the rest of the game. FAYETTEVILLE 6 SPRINGDALE 7 Roselynn Baker reigned over this homecoming game. Don Trumbo made the lone Bulldog score midway in the first quarter. TheBulldog drive was hampered by a cold mist and they were not able to hold back the visitors on their fourth quarter drive. FAYETTEVILLE lb ROGERS 6 Carlton M oon scored on the first play in this battlewith the Mountaineers. Lewis scored once and also turned in the most spectacular run of the game when he fumbled and recovered, reversed his field three times and outran the Rogers team until he was downed on the lh. FAYETTEVILLE 7 SUBIACO 6 Tryon Lewis was waiting in the end zone for Robinson's pass which was the deciding factor in the Bulldog's last game this season. Robin- son's kick was good. The Trojans threatened in the last minutes of play. A wide kick for point saved the game for the Bulldogs.
