Having completed their study of the basic principles of commercial art, the second year student tackles the more technical part of the course. Structural design, oil painting, and water coloring occupy them during the second year. A few of our art students even work on the cartoons for The Crusader. A DISCUSSION of various art forms occupies the members of Junior 13. The first year Commercial Art students attempt to grasp the fundamentals of design, per- spective, lettering, and layout. Within the scope of Father Dul1ieId's vigilant eyes, they develop their skills as artists. With practice and patience added to experi- ence, they are likely to become dress designers, automotive designers, illustrators, or cartoonists.
