Hui 0 a Kiaaina The Hui O Na Kiaaina was formed by a group of varsity athletes who, besides playing sports, wanted to be of service to the school and to participate in activities together. Having worked with the retarded chil- dren at Waimano Home, ushering at as- semblies and listening to speakers from colleges, they have truly lived up to their name Club of Leaders. Director Mr. Eugene Shen Project Director 4 Hawaii Upward Bound Hawaii Upward Bound's main goal was to prepare selected students for college by ii improving their academic skills. i The highlight of the year was the seven- i tnel s week summer program at the UH, in which 5, , in students enrolled in courses such as En- glish, algebra, art, and tennis. Other activities the club engaged in were tours of Oahu college campuses, and at- tending cultural events.

Some of the many activities this year were Christmas caroling, Homecoming, float building and a visit to Waimano Home. To close the year, members held a sayonara dinner for the departing seniors.
