The girls celebrated National FHA Week which was held in February and they also participated in the State FHA conference which was held at the Pagoda Hotel in April. A banquet culminated the year. A , .. : 5 9 L I 2, 1 The Fil-American Youth Club was or- ganized in 1969 to provide a social and recreational outlet for the increasing num- ber of Filipino students at Farrington. Their goals were to help the immigrant students adjust to the American way of life, to actively participate in school events, and to provide leadership training for future community involvement. Book-collecting for schools in the Philip- pines, Christmas caroling, and participat- ing in the May Day program were some of the ethnically oriented activities that kept the club busy throughout the year.

They strove to fulfill their goals of developing competent and aggres- sive business leadership, strengthening the con- fidence of young men and Women in themselves and their work, creating more interest and under- standing in their choice of business occupations, and participating in worthy undertakings for the improvement of business and the community. Among the various activities that the club par- ticipated in this year the annual Youth Confer- ence was the most important event for them.
