The purpose of the club is to promote skill in the arts of public speaking, argumentation and debate to better acquaint the school with com- munity. Success as the motto, the club has for its colors purple and white. Under the supervision of Mr. HerbertW. Liu, the club sponsored story telling at St. Anthony's Home and the King's Daughter s Home. It also participated in the sale of poppies. Kathryn Oshiro President ' I f Nancy Terada 1st Veep 2nd Veep The Farrington Toasters Club was organ- ized in 1950 by the public speaking class and its adviser,Mr. Herbert W. Liu. The purpose of this club is to promote bet- ter speech, public interest and debate and to help members become good citizens. As service projects the club helped with the distribution of Christmas seals for the Mutual Sonya Nishimura Irene Fujimaki FARRINGTON TOASTERS CLUB -1, 3rd Veep Karen Okumura -A Secretary Geraldine Ca Treasurer Telephone Co. and also participated in the SOC dance. A ,scholarship dance was held in April to help a worthy member further his education at the University of Hawaii. A banquet was held at the Waikiki Lau Yee Chai at the close of the school year to climax the club's activities for the year. The purpose of this club is to encourage shorthand students to participate in the Annual Order of Gregg X Artists Contest, and to promote a greater interest in ti shorthand.
