Boys' Swimming Team Under leadership of Mr. Ted Kahananui for the first season, the boys' made a credible showing in the matches they competed in. The call for turn-outs found 45 eager boys answering the call. Mr. Kahananui had a time weeding it into a team of 25. A team composed of Blaisdell, Ginoza, Matias and Yoshino set a new 200 yard relay record of l minute 44.1 seconds. Another banner year will be expected since only Ginoza and Yoshino will be out through graduation. i I Girls' Swimming The girls swimming team under Coach Mildred Honnaka entered the 1948 league with lots of confidence. There were 58 girls that tried out for the team but like always, a few were picked out. Out of the 15 girls, Ida Aipolani, freestyle: Beatrice Yoshioka, breastg Nancy Fujii, medley: and Florence Hirasaki, freestyle: stood out for the female team. Clothilda Kea was the captain and jane Kagemoto assisted Mrs. Honnaka as manger.
